Data Centre - Reference Design

Location: Global
Client: confidential Value: TBC Duration: 2023 - 2024
Role: Task Team Manager / Interface Manager
Responsibility: BEP production, BIM Team Leadership, Clash Detection, QA/QC

Challenges
- Managing a complex programme with extensive data requirements.
- Ensuring model adaptability and scalability across multiple sites in different regions.
- Coordinating across diverse design teams to meet unified standards & specifications. - The Client started preparing Information Requirements almost at project handover, creating additional complexity.

Solutions
- Addressed the lack of Information Requirements by assisting the Client in creating & refining IRs during the project & updated the BEP & Models to suit where feasible. - Conducted thorough reviews & updates of objects to align with the newly established IRs. - Developed federated, multidisciplinary models adhering to the client’s IRs. - Performed comprehensive clash detection and validation across all disciplines. - Created shared parameter files, populated models with required attributes, and ensured compliance with Uniformat 2010 for all maintainable objects.

End Result

  1. Accelerated project timelines & optimised resource efficiency.

  2. Delivered an adaptable reference design for global data centre projects.

  3. Set a new standard for design flexibility, scalability, and client satisfaction.

  4. Overcame lack of Information Requirements by working closely with the Client to define and integrate them, ensuring seamless project delivery.
